Summum Pro 6" Roof Radiation Shield
Adjustable Thermal Barrier for Sloped & Cathedral Rooflines — Model SC-6RRS-2
Ensure uncompromising fire safety and code compliance when passing your chimney through a cathedral or sloped ceiling with the official Summum Pro 6" Roof Radiation Shield (Model #SC-6RRS-2). Precision-engineered in Canada from heavy-gauge galvanized steel, this specialized thermal barrier is designed for angled roofline penetrations where the chimney passes through rafters or vaulted ceiling planes. Featuring an adjustable pivoting collar that conforms cleanly to any roof pitch, it incorporates factory-engineered spacers that guarantee the mandatory 2-inch airspace clearance while physically preventing loose-fill or batt insulation from migrating against hot chimney surfaces.
Summum Pro Roof Radiation Shield Dimensions, Flange Profile & Clearance Geometry
- Universal Slope & Angle Adjustability: Articulating collar adjusts smoothly to match any roof pitch—from shallow slope rafters (1/12) to steep cathedral architectural rooflines (12/12+).
- Guaranteed 2" Airspace Compliance: Integrated mechanical spacers ensure the mandatory 2-inch clearance to combustible rafters, trusses, and ceiling joists is automatically maintained.
- Crucial Insulation Barrier: Functions as a physical thermal shield that stops blown cellulose, fiberglass batts, and attic dust from collecting against the hot exterior chimney casing.
- Heavy-Duty Galvanized Construction: Fabricated from durable, corrosion-resistant galvanized steel engineered to endure extreme temperature cycling without warping or degrading.
- CAN/ULC-S629 Certified System Component: Fully tested and certified by OMNI Laboratories to meet strict 2100°F (1150°C) chimney fire safety standards across Canadian climates.
- Limited Lifetime Warranty: Backed by Summum Pro's 10-year 100% component replacement warranty and 50% replacement coverage thereafter when installed by a certified WETT or APC technician.
